Important information about your drinking water

We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not your drinking water meets health standards.

During the reporting period of 10/1/2017 through 10/31/2017 the Assumption Parish WW Dist 1 did not complete all monitoring or testing for coliform bacteria as set forth in the State and Federal Primary Drinking Water Regulations [Louisiana State Sanitary Code (LAC 51:SII) and Code of Federal Regulations (40 CFR 141)]. Therefore, the Assumption Parish WW Dist 1 cannot be sure of the quality of your drinking water during that time.

This situation was due to failure to collect one of twenty-five monthly required bacteriological samples for monitoring period 10/1/2017 through 10/31/2017. The sample was actually collected and brought to the lab for testing but was rejected due to no signature on the associated paperwork.

What does this mean? This is not an emergency. There is nothing you need to do at this time. As our customer, you have the right to know what happened and what is being done to correct the situation.

The following actions have been taken to correct this issue. We have addressed the cause of the missed monitoring and are now monitoring as required and will continue to do so as scheduled.
