Meter Reading

Assumption Parish Waterworks District No. 1 uses Badger AMR Meters.  Meters are read once a month utilizing drive by technology.  The meter transmits the reading to a receiver in our vehicle.  In the photo below, you can see the water meter and the wired transmitter inside of the meter box.  The transmitter is attached to the top exterior of the meter box.  It is very important that customers do not damage the transmitter.  

If the transmitter is damaged, the customer is responsible for the replacement cost.  This is stated on the top section of all APWW customer water bills: "Because of the cost, should someone tamper with the AMR meters & cause damage, you will be charged the replacement cost."
