Winter Weather Advisory
January 16, 2025
Attention all APWW Customers!
In an effort to be able to continue to supply water during the upcoming cold snap we have a few requests to help. If you have a camp or vacant house we ask that you go now and turn off the water and drain the pipes. Many times after hard freezes these lines break and no one notices for a while which causes an unnecessary strain on our system and not to mention the surprise of a high water bill to you.
We are also asking that if you must drip your pipes at home, please make it only a drip which is all that is necessary. Turn off the drip when the temps get above freezing and make repairs to broken lines as soon as possible. Please locate your shut off valve if you have one so that you will be prepared in an emergency. If you see a leak please let the owner know and if no one is there you can call us at 985-369-6156 and we can shut it off.
Since many will drip we ask you to conserve water as much as possible during this unusual weather event especially Monday and Tuesday, like washing clothes before freezes or after things return to normal. If everyone works together and contributes we will get through this with minimal affects. Stay tuned for further updates and stay warm out there!
